Can I designate my gift to a specific fund? How?
While we hope all donors will make annual unrestricted gifts, you may choose to designate your gift to a specific fund such as student scholarships. To do so, please include this information with your gift.
The Annual Fund, which is the cornerstone of giving to the College, provides crucial unrestricted dollars for the College’s annual operating budget. These dollars represent approximately ten percent of the operating budget and provide flexibility for the College to meet needs as they arise.
How often will I be contacted by the Randolph College Annual Fund?
Alumni, parents, and friends are usually contacted two to three times throughout the year through our direct mail campaign and via e-mail. In addition, current students may call you seeking support for the Annual Fund during our Phonathons throughout the year.

What is the minimum gift/pledge needed to establish an endowed fund?
There are numerous opportunities available for establishing an endowed fund. To establish a named restricted fund requires a gift of $50,000 or more. For more information regarding the different naming opportunities available, please contact the Development Office at 1-877-769-2443.
What gifts count toward my Reunion giving?
While all gifts to the College are important, gifts to the Annual Fund will count toward your class gift.
Can I make my gift in honor or memory of another person?
You can celebrate a significant occasion, remember a classmate or loved one, commemorate a milestone or recognize someone special with an honorary or memorial gift in their name to Randolph College. Whether you make your gift online, by mail or by phone, we will gratefully acknowledge your thoughtful donation by notifying the person or family member you designate. Your donation will honor your friends or loved ones and help sustain our Randolph community.
What is the endowment? Can I make gifts to the endowment?
The College’s enduring commitment to providing an exceptional education for its students has throughout the years been insured in part by a strong endowment. Through the generosity of many foresighted alumnae, alumni, parents, friends, and organizations, more than 450 endowments and named funds have been created in perpetuity to support the College’s faculty, students, and programs. Gifts for endowment can fund professorships, scholarships, faculty development, or specific program areas such as the library, global studies, or technology.
What is the College’s Employer Identification Number (EIN) and when might I need it?
The College’s EIN is 54-0505941. An organization’s EIN is a unique identifier issued by the IRS verifying a charitable organization’s tax-exempt status and is necessary when claiming a charitable deduction on your income taxes. Also, knowing the EIN can ensure you are selecting Randolph when requesting a distribution from a donor advised fund, community foundation, or a matching gift from your or your spouse’s employer.
